When you think of Lübeck, delicious marzipan certainly comes to mind. A very special sight in the Hanseatic city is the Lübeck Marzipan Museum Niedegger. The free museum is located on the 2nd floor of Café Niederegger and impressively tells the story of marzipan and how it came to the Hanseatic city from the Orient. The company history of the marzipan manufacturer Niederegger is also interestingly described here. The absolute highlight of the museum are certainly the 12 life-size marzipan figures. From Thomas Mann to Wolfgang Joop, you can find some famous personalities here – all fans of the delicacy. Personal guided tours are offered for groups of 10 or more.
