Listed city center

The beautiful old town of Marbach is characterized by a unique ensemble of historic half-timbered houses, towers, fountains and the town wall with medieval fortifications. The fact that the old town center is so exceptionally well preserved can be explained by the reconstruction after the devastating town fire of 1693. The old town of Marbach extends to just 350 by 250 meters and has been a listed building since 1983. Also worth seeing is Marbach’s old town hall, which was built between 1760 and 1763. However, the town administration moved into a new town hall in Marktstraße in 2022. Here is the Upper Gate Tower, which can also be visited.
