If you want to explore historic Mosbach, you should start your tour on the market square. Here you will find historical monuments of the town worth seeing, such as the town hall and the Palm’sche Haus. The latter was built in 1610 and is considered the town’s landmark and one of the most beautiful half-timbered houses in southern Germany. On the south side of the market square are the Haus Brauß and Haus Lindenlaub. The oldest half-timbered house in town, the Salzhaus from 1425, is located to the west. The Old Hospital from the 15th century houses the town museum. As part of an old town redevelopment from 1975 to 1998, some half-timbered houses were demolished and others were renovated at great expense.
