An idyllic spot to rest and relax is the Liebesinsel on the Pegnitz. From Fleischbrücke, you can get directly to the flea market with its many stalls and then down a small flight of steps to the beautiful lawn, which invites you to linger and is a popular meeting place for young and old. There is another attraction at the Liebesinsel: from here you can sail in style across the Pegnitz in a Venetian gondola and enjoy the view from the river of Nuremberg and its many sights. The gondolas have their origins in the town twinning that has existed between Nuremberg and Venice for many years.
