The old sea bridges in Scharbeutz and Haffkrug have had their day and are currently being rebuilt until spring 2024. Due to climate change, the sea level has risen and makes it necessary for the bridges to be built higher. The bridge forecourts were also included in the redesign. To ensure that the popular Scharbeutz pier can continue to be used in a variety of ways, various play stations for children, benches for sitting and resting, sports facilities and areas for events are planned. An important aspect of the new pier is to modernise the appearance of the maritime structure and to design it for sustainable use. Barrier-free access will also be ensured with the installation of ramps.
