First mentioned in a document in 1155, this Upper Bavarian spa town (pop. approx. 19,000) on the Alpine Road offers a very beautiful historic old town that was spared from WWII. Along the picturesque market street are numerous lovingly painted houses with beautiful baroque gables. Winding alleys, small stores with traditional costumes from Tölz and handicrafts from the region, cafes and traditional inns invite you to stroll. The wildly romantic Isar flows through the middle of Bad Töl, inviting you to swim in the clear water.
