Leisure attractions in every season

About 50 km from Munich, in the middle of a protected landscape area in the Bavarian Alps, lies the famous Tegernsee. Due to a continuous ring canalization from the 60’s, it is considered one of the cleanest lakes in Bavaria. The name of the lake goes back to the year 796 when the princes Oatkar and Adalbert founded a monastery here and called it “Kloster am tegarin seo” (Old High German: large lake). Nowadays, Lake Tegernsee is a popular travel and excursion destination due to the numerous recreational opportunities at any time of the year. In addition to extensive hiking, wellness and boat tours in the warm months, the region is also wonderful for skiing in winter.
