Sacred idyll on the Wallberg

When visiting the Wallberg on the Bavarian Tegernsee, a detour to the beautifully located Wallberg Chapel of the Holy Cross should not be missed. The picturesque church can already be seen from the Wallberg mountain station and the panorama restaurant. Built in 1909, it belongs to the Archdiocese of Munich and is open for services on Sundays during the summer months from June to September. Outside this time, chapel is usually closed and can not be visited from the inside. But even from the outside, the Wallberg Chapel Heilig Kreuz offers an idyllic sight in front of the Alpine panorama. So it’s no wonder that it is a popular photo motif for the approx. 8,000 visitors each year.
