One of Celle’s landmarks is the town’s castle, which sits enthroned on a hill in the beautiful castle park. You can reach the prestigious building via a circular path through the park, where you can enjoy a unique panoramic view of Celle. In addition to a visit to the Residenzmuseum, where you can learn more about the history of the palace, the palace chapel is also well worth seeing. The court chapel was built at the end of the 15th century and is a real gem with its numerous paintings, biblical quotations, carvings and sandstone reliefs. The church interior is the only one in Germany that has been almost completely preserved and has been only slightly altered over the centuries.
