Tour of the historic old town of Celle

Discover the picturesque old town of Celle in the Lüneburg Heath with its numerous half-timbered houses, the beautiful Guelph castle with castle theatre as well as the various museums. The most famous half-timbered house is the magnificent Hoppener Haus, next to which the “Talking Lanterns” stand and tell funny or exciting stories – a must for every tourist. Stroll through the French Gardens or take in the Bauhaus architecture. Also worth a visit are the Bomann Museum with exhibits of rural and urban cultural history and the world’s first 24-hour art museum, where you can marvel at contemporary art during the day, such as the Robert Simon collection, and light art at night.
