Nature reserve with view

The Hessigheim Rock Gardens, also known as the Swabian Dolomites, are one of the most important geotopes in Germany. The nature reserve in the Neckar Basin natural area is known for its breathtaking views and is considered the flagship of Hessigheim. Particularly worth seeing are the rugged shell limestone rocks, which are geologically unique. In addition, Hessigheim’s rock gardens are home to a variety of rare animal and plant species. Since the 1920s, they have been a popular destination for sport climbers who were preparing for major tours in the Alps at the time. In the rock gardens there are over 130 climbing routes with various degrees of difficulty. Those who do not like it quite so sporty, however, can also use one of the numerous hiking trails.
